Hi all..., Nowadays many of the companies asking for
IMS/DB , actually i hav learned mainframes but i dont have
any knowledge on IMS/DB. it will be a great help if any one
suggest me whr i can learn it ( in any institute).

IMS is a hiberarchical database managerment system.
It mainly contains two components, IMS DB and IMS TM.
From the function of the two componets, we can understand
as this:
IMS DB: Hiberarchical database. (Using DL/I manipulate
data.)
DB2/ORICALE/MySql : Relational database.( Using SQL
manipulate data.)
IMS TM is similar to CICS (Customer Information Control
System), which is used to deal with transaction.(
Transaction is devided into several types, we can
understand it is a interactive conversion. We draw money
from ATM can be a transaction.)
IMS has a long history, but he is still energiable. At the
same time, IMS has the two components of itself, can
realize the information managerment completely, which
increase the capability. In addition, the maintance cost is
very low.
