what is the working principal of diode
Answer Posted / kannan
Diode is the basic semiconductor device with a single
junction of P type(Anode) & N type(Cathode) materials. It
conducts electric current only in one direction, when it is
forward biased. i.e, when the Anode is connected to the +ve
supply and the Cathode to -ve. Holes from Anode is repelled
by +ve supply and electrons are repelled by -ve supply and
both will cross the junction and the current flows through
it. This will not happen when it is reverse biased.
