When is the maximum load on the lift/elevator,during
ascending or descending?Explain.
Answer Posted / ankit jain
in is during ascending... Consider the following eqs.
During Ascending....
T - mg = ma
so T= m(g+a)
During descending....
mg - T = ma
so, T = m(g -a)
and since the lift will have to balance the tension in the rope alone, so T will be higher in the case of ascending lift.
