In thistle funnel experiment to prove osmosis,after attaing

No,because in thistle funnel both solvent and solute is
present.But in the beaker only pure water is present,it
means Solute concentration or osmotic potential contributes
in the thistle funnel.Thers is no contribution of Osmotic
potential in the beaker because it cotain pure water.
