IN A THERMAL POWER PLANT, WHY IS THE USED STEAM CONDENSED
INTO WATER AND THEN SENT BACK TO THE BOILER, WHY NOT
DIRECTLY REHEAT THE SAME STEAM??
Answer Posted / kumar
after last stage, the pressure & temperature of the steam
is very less. so that it can't travel further any area.
so that we have to condensate that steam and pump it to
boiler reheater. With less pressure steam can't travel
upto boiler height. That is why we r changing the phase
from steam to liquid. We can pump the liquids very easily
than steam. Another point is in condenser, there are lot
of non-condensable gases will present in the media. Those
gases we have to remove. If u reheat the same steam, due
to these non-condensable gases, the boiler tubes may
damage. So we required to pass this liquid to deaerator
also.
