Both are correct the first formula is for the voltage drop
while the second formula is for power.
1.if you increase current while maintaing the resistance
constant the voltage drop across it will increase or in
other word if you vary resistance while maintaing the
current constant the voltage drop will again vary.
2 for this case if u increase voltage maintaing the current
constant the power is increased or if u increase the current
while maintaing the voltage constant again u increase the power.
think a little bit about this matter and u will understand
the things with yourself
