what is the need for modulation?

Answer Posted / lakkup

for security purpose, to protect from noise, distortions
etc., modulation is used
so in order to transmit a signal ,modulation is done by
superimposing carrier signal on to the message signal
so when it is transmitted over the channel ,modulation
serves as a protective covering for the message signal.so at
the receiver side it is then demodulated to get the original
signal
