examples for newtonian and non newtonian fluid
Answer Posted / bn
Newtonian and non-Newtonian applies to liquids not fluids.
Liquid is a fluid but fluid is not necessarily a liquid.
Fluids are liquid, vapour, gas and plasma.
Water is a Newtonian liquid; the viscosity is constant, at
constant temperature irrespective of shear.
Ketchup is a non-Newtonian liquid; the viscosity varies
depending upon the shear and the length of time the shear
is applied.
