how to pd(2) to pd(0) in suzuki reaction

Answer Posted / pushpal bhaket

In the Suzuki reaction. The first step is the oxidative
addition. In this step, the Palladium need to be zero
valency state. In case of Pd(PPh3)4, the palladium metal is
in zero valency and therefore can easily take part in the
oxidative addition. However, for other Palladium (II)
complexes eg Pd(OAc)2, Pd(PPh3)2Cl2, Pd2
(MeCN)2Cl2 reducers (for instance Et3N) are added which
converts Pd(II) to Pd(0).
