IS there any mechanical connection between the field winding
and armature winding of a dc generator?
Answer Posted / manojkrishnan
There is no mechanical connection in between field and
armature windings . The winding of the field is wound on the
stator cores while that of the armature is wound on rotor
cores. There must be a narrow gap in between the stator and
rotor cores ( say 2mm ) so as to rotate the rotor freely .
