why petrol engines have more power than diesel engines of

Assalam o alaikum.
In my opinion the rate of power depends on combustion. In
S.I engines more amount of fuel get burnt as compare to
diesle engine. The more the feul burnt the more amount of
power you get. If you think that my answer is wrongs so
please tell me i will be thankfull.
