If excitation will increase, then what will be the effect
on power factor? Will it decrease or increase?
Answer Posted / gulshan goyal
it depends on the machine. If it is a motor and if we
increase excutation power will shift from lagging to
leading.as we increse the excitation angle will first
decrease as in lagging side than angle will increase in
leading side and hence the power factor will initially may
be .8 lagging than .9L,.95L,1 than .95 leading ,.9Ld,.8Ld
