what is the difference between impulse and reaction turbines ?
Answer Posted / dilip
Impulse turbines uses force that convert this force into
energy that is required to rotate the rotor and there is
loss of energy ,heat etc.... Whereas in reaction turbine
there is a set of movable and fixed blades that converts
the energy to move the rotor i.e. the pressure energy is
converted for both reasons ie the reaction and the impulse.
