When a water pump falls to draw water, a bucket of water
poured into it sets it working. Why ?

Answer Posted / george

water pump requires the inlet pipe to be filled with water
for it to function . Due to various reasons the tube could
do dry (like running the pump dry). By pouring the water, we
are basically filling this tube. Once the tube is full, its
ready to pump water again. This activity is called priming a
pump
