The neutral wire carries the unbalanced current.
Under normal conditions Ia+Ib+Ic=0 hence no current in the
neutral. Generally fault currents are unbalanced in nature
and is conducted by the neutral.

In case of generator when we consume more power produces by it why load on generator increase and starts sound more. and how it is adjusted..
