what is the relationship between cop and hp(horse power) of
compressor?

c.o.p is the ratio between refrigeration effect and
workdone by the compressor.so if workdone by the compressor
is low for given refrigeration effect then the c.o.p
increases.i think this is the relationship.

Why iso-octane is chosen as reference fuel for s.i. Engines and allotted 100 value for its octane number ?
In Rankine Cycle we use the concept of Tm(mean temperature of heat addition).In actual cycle the efficiency comes as n=1-T2/T1 Taking Tm into consideration it comes as n=1-T2/Tm as T1>Tm so the efficiency for both case will not same for a same cycle. Can anybody explain how it is possible? Advance appreciation for your effort.Thanks
