Algae are of great value to man and animals in many ways.
They are the chief food of some of the fishes and other
aquatic animals.
1. Edible:- Prophyra tenara is eaten throughout the japan.
P.umblicaulis :- is eaten in England.
P.perforate :- Ulva lactuvca chlorella are also edible.
2. Algae in industries:- Chlorella is most important algae
which decorates Pastries, sandwitch, rich, fish cakes and
jelly cakes in japan.
