What are the differences and respective advantages to
electrophoresis, SDS PAGE, and isoelectric focusing?
Answer Posted / moumita ghosal
electrophoresis helps in separation and purification of
protein based on charge: mass ratio property.
SDS-PAGE helps in molecular weight determination. also it
allows to know how many subunit the protein has.
Isoelectric focusing helps in separation and precipitation
of protein at their isoelectric point(net charge is zero).
