What is mean by powerfactor. What is the difference between
leading and lagging power factor?
Answer Posted / bharatkumar n
Power Factor is the cosine angle between the applied
voltage and the current flow.If the current leads the
voltage(Since the capcitor opposes the rate of change of
voltage, current flows before applying the voltage) it is
leading power factor if currnt lags the voltage (Since the
inductor opposes the rate of change of current, voltage
appears before the current) it is lagging power factor.
