WHY DOES NEUTRAL DO NOT CARRY EVEN THOUGH IT CARRIES RETURN
CURRENT?
Answer Posted / pratheesh
In three phase system, if the loads on all three phases are
equal, there will not be any current flow through neutral.
Remember the star point of motor. I1+I2+I3=0. If there is
no potantial in neutral with respect to ground, there will
not be any current flow.
But if the loads on any phase/s are not equal to others,
I1+I2+I3 is not equal to 0. So in this case there will be
some potential on neutral wire at the load side and this
will creat a current flow to the star point of trasformer.
