plant breeding involves grafting or carrying out pollination
betn same/closely related plant species so as to obtain
breeds of plants having desired characteristics. plant
breeding is usually practiced in open fields or greenhouses.
in contrast, biotechnology involves producing plants under
controlled environment of a test tube or a jar on a nutrient
media and under the influence of growth factors/
phytohormones. virtually any part of plant can be used as
the starting material in this case.
