Classification of alternators-
1) Salient pole(Having no of poles above 4)
2) Cylindrical (Having no of poles 2 or 4)

On the basis of cooling-
1)TARI- Turbo gen air cooled with rotor indirect cooling
2)THRI- Turbo gen H2 cooled with rotor indirect cooling
3)THW- Turbo gen H2 cooled rotor & water cooled stator

Whether amorphous core transformer is available in India?.If available then up to what rating of voltage and KVA?.
