How to recover a system whose root password has lost?

Follow the below steps for recover
1 . boot your system
2 . boot loader will displays the OS selection, just press
the 'e' key for edit the boot loader
3 . After pressed the 'e' , Is display two line one for
kernel another one for initrd
4.select the kernel image and press 'e' then add '1' to end
of the line
5. Just press 'b' for boot the system in single usermode
6. use passwd command for change the root password
