I have qualified in the sbi clerical test .Now my
interview is on 16-10-2008.So pls tell me what questions
are asked in the interview and tell me the reference book
for interview in sbi.

Hi Everyone,
I am a regular visitor of this blog. Till now i have not
written any entries here. now i would like to share my
experiences here .
I gave my interview today (14th of October).
It was very easy.
The interviewers try to make u relax. IT is not at all like
interviews of other corporate offices.
They have a smile in their face. And will ask u the simple
questions in d beginning, and then when u answer them
correctly, they will go somewhat deep into the banking sector.
For me, they started by asking me to tell about me and my
family.
Then what is core banking.
Tell something about the emblem of state bank. what does it
signify.
What is internet banking.
They asked me whether u have account in sbi.
Then what is news today in papers about SBI
tell about the history of sbi.
then what is ATM
can we make deposit to other banks using ATM
Recently, all nationalized banks ATM's are linked by what
network? Cash tree
then, since I am a Biotechnology graduate, they asked me
what is microbiology.
what is current percentage of CRR.
and which books are written by Mohandas Gandhi.
That's all folks. these were the questions they asked me.
The panel consisted of 4 people. All were friendly. they
asked me for about 30 minutes.
One advice for interview takers on foll. days..
Return the smile. Don't look tensed or agitated. Be cool. be
confident. They are not asking u what u don't know. they
just want to test your communication skills. So don't keep a
worrying look while facing the interview.

A session will consist of 20 members.
Only the photocopies of all the certificates will be taken.
The originals, including the character certificate will be
returned to you.
And one more thing i noticed is that the 4 or 5 digit number
beside your name in the call letter is the rank. because the
order of interview is determined by that only.

can i know anyone who got selection from hyd circle for sbi november2009 clerical?
hey guys i attended my interview on 29th April in a delhi zone.They were asking so simple question that i was surprised. I preapred day and night for the interview collecting all the question from this link and other site as well as from GS book but they simply asked 1) tell us about ur family 2) about u 3) Why u want to join banking and not IT . 4) Advantages and disadvantages of computer. 5) Where is hawamahal. 6) about pink city 7) who discovered electron. 8) who invented telephone. that's all I think it was just waste of time preparing banking related questions.
can anyone please explain whether getting promoted as po through departmental exams is better or directly getting po post through competitive exams while working as a clerk of a bank?
