hi there is a one formula to findout defect dencity
DD= NUMBER OF BUGS REPORTED BY CLIENT/NUMBER OF BUGS LOGGED
BY TESTING TEAM + NUMBER OF BUGS REPORTED BY CLIENT
AND DD ALWAYS SHOULD BE LESSTHAN 5% MEANS IT DEFINES QUALITY
OF THE PROJECT
