A reagent used to detect the presence of indole. Used in
the identification of bacteria.
Kovac`s reagent is prepared by dissolving 10 g of p-
aminobenzaldehyde in 150 ml of isoamylalcohol and then
slowly adding 50 ml of concentrated hydrochloric acid.
