The Basic Lifecycle of the trematodes includes a number of
distinct stages.
These stages are
1) The Parasite Egg
Larval Stages are
1) Miracidium - free swimming form
2) The Sporocyst - within the Snail intermediate host
3) The Redia - within the Snail intermediate host
4) The Cercaria - - free swimming form
5) The Mesocercaria - within the Snail intermediate host
6) The Metacercaria - within the Snail intermediate host
7) The Juvenile Adult - within the Snail intermediate host
8) The Adult Parasite
