Yersinia enterocolitica is a well-described enteric pathogen
belongs to the family Enterobacteriaceae, genus Yersinia,
which includes 11 species, 3 of which are pathogenic in man
namely Yersinia pestis causing bubonic plague , Yersinia
pseudotuberculosis causing mesenteric adenitis , and
Yersinia enterocolitica.
