why DC current not used in Transformer action?
Answer Posted / vinayak khorate
AS TRANSFORMER IS STATIC DEVICE
TO INDUCE CURRENT IN ANY CONDUCTOR BASICALLY WE NEED MOVING
MAGANETIC FIELD OR THE CONDUCTORS SHOULD MOVE.....
IN AC CURRENT THE DIRECTION OF FLUX IS MOVING CONTINEOUSLY
SO THE CURRENT IS INDUCED IS THE WINDING (SECONDARY WINDING)
WHERE AS IN DC SUPPLY THE FREQUENCY IS ZERO AND THATS WHY
THERE IS NO LINKAGE OF VARIABLE FLUX IN SECONDARY SO NO
CURRENT INDUCED.THATS WHY WE USE ONLY AND ONLY AC SUPPLY IN
TRANSFORMERS
