Answer / kiran

For Vmware don't choose "Bridged" unless you desire to read
the manual ;) .

Choose "nat".

While Installing Solaris 10:-
------------------------------
networked -> yes
DHCP -> yes
IPv6 -> hey, why not
Kerberos -> nope
Name service: -> None
NFS domain -> Use NFSv4 domain derived ...
... (etc.)

Now let that install and you'll see some kind of error about
the hostname "unknown" is unknown (go figure) ...

Fix it by adding this line to /etc/hosts

127.0.0.1 (tab) unknown

1.): Click on the [Start Button] "steaming coffee cup".
2.): Mouse-over [All Applications] move right [System Tools]
move right [Terminal].
3.): Type "su" and then your root password.
4.): Type "vi /etc/hosts" .
5.): Down-arrow to the bottom and hit "i".
6.): Type the info (shown above).
7.): Hit [ESC], type ":w!" [Enter]
8.): Type ":q".
9.): Type "exit", again type "exit".
10.): Click on the [Start Button] and choose [Shut Down]
11.): Restart your Solaris VM and sign back on.
12.): Try Firefox. ( [Start Button] at the top of the pop-up
says "Firefox Web Browser".
13.): Access this page and thank me :) .

Works for me.
