government jobs. becoz in this recession period its
difficult to get any small job. better concentrate on xam

the increment is yearly.
but pay scale is to be revised & hopefully will be 25%
increased before u'll get recruited.
and for ur growth prospective, i'll say, if ur in banking ,
no other bank can provide u as much growth as sbi can do. (u
can be officer in 5 years)
also there are exams like JAIIB & CAIIB , which can be given
in six months interval & will provide you two increments.
also if ur graduate, first two increment will be given on
your starting salary.....

I learn that SBI really sucks compare to other Banks. We need to work 10 times than other Bank clerk do. The pay also not so high, it will be around 11,000 per month including all and everything. And I tell U dude, it will take minimum of 10 yrs to come to PO, not 5 Yrs. (That also with heavy competition and Tough Exams). Hardly I also clear SBI 2010 but thinking to go for interview of not..
