Diff B/w ref and reffld?
Answer / anonymous- projo
REF and REFFLD are keywords that can be used in DDS during
creation of physical files.
The following are the differences
1. Ref is a file level keyword - Reffld is a field level
key word.
2. Ref is used to refer to a field reference file and we
write field reference file as its argument. With this we
can bring attributes and keywords defined in FRF intto the
DDS we are defining. This requires R in the REF column of
the Field in the DDS.
Reffld when used also requires R in the Ref column of DDS
and this can draw attributes and keywords that are already
defined in amy file and any field. The file name and the
field name are mentioned as arguments to this keyword.
3. Both can be freely used within the same DDS if needed.
4. These keywords help only at file creation time and has
no impact when the file referenced is changed at later
time.
