Parent segment is any segment that has a dependent segment
beneath it in it hiearchy.
Child segment is any segment that is a dependent segment to
another segement above it in the hiearchy.

segments and a child segment is the one which is dependent

Hi all..., Nowadays many of the companies asking for IMS/DB , actually i hav learned mainframes but i dont have any knowledge on IMS/DB. it will be a great help if any one suggest me whr i can learn it ( in any institute).
An application programmer comes to you and says your DB is no good, they got an II status code on an insert call from IMS, is this a DB problem?
