what are 3D base pairs ?
Answer / biomaster
Each DNA molecule is made up of two spirally coiled chains
made up of sugars and phosphorus molecules and in the
middle nitrogenbases. This arrangement looks like a ladder.
nitrogen bases are adenine, guanine, thiamine, cytosine.
Adenine always pairs with thiamine by two hydrogen bonds.
These are known as 2D base pairs.
Guanine always pairs with cytosine by three hydrogen
bonds. These are known as 3D base pairs.
