stationary trolley B of mass 0.5tonnes after collision the
two bodies were automatically connected.find their common
velocities after collision if the mass of truck is 1.2tonne.

a truck A moving with a velocity of 30m/s collides with a stationary trolley B of mass 0.5tonnes a..

Answer / vinayaka

The mass of the Truck is 1.2 tonnes
Velocity of truck is 30m/s
Mass of the trolley is 0.5 tonnes
Velocity of trolley is 0 m/s

Momentum before collison = Momentum after collison
so
1.2*30 + 0.5*0 = 1.7*x

x = 36.0/1.7
so commom velocity = x= 21.176470588235293 m/s

a truck A moving with a velocity of 30m/s collides with a stationary trolley B of mass 0.5tonnes a..

Answer / kondaiah

mt=1.2-o.5=0.7tonne
mtr=0.5tonne
vt=30m/s
vtr=0m/s
common velocity=(mt*vt+mtr*vtr)/(mt+mtr)
=0.7*30+o.5*0/1.2
=210/12
=17.5m/s
