In Windows Azure, there are several options for managing session state: 1) In-process session state mode (for web applications hosted on a single server), 2) Out-of-process session state mode (for load-balanced and multi-server web applications), 3) SQL Server Compact session state store mode, and 4) SQL Azure session state store mode.
