What is meant by egress, ingress and regress?
Answer / Vijay Prakash Singh Yadav
In AWS networking terms:
- Egress traffic refers to outbound data transfer from an instance or service to the internet or another AWS resource outside of a VPC (Virtual Private Cloud).
- Ingress traffic refers to inbound data transfer into an instance or service within a VPC.
- Regress traffic is not a standard term in this context; however, it can be used to describe outgoing data from the internet back into an AWS resource.
