What is the purpose of scan?
Answer / Vikas Kumar Tyagi
In Oracle RAC, a SCAN operation (Sort Consistent Non-unique Access Name) is used to read data from multiple blocks in a table in any order. It does not guarantee sorting or uniqueness of the data, but it allows for faster access when compared to a full table scan.
