The Pharmaceutical Laboratory of Indian Medicine (PLIM), previously known as Central Research Institute for Unani Medicine (CRIUM), was established in 1916 under the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Its main functions include the standardization and quality control of Ayurvedic, Siddha, Unani, and Homoeopathic medicines, research and development of new formulations, and the training of personnel involved in these traditional systems of medicine.
