Explain the Real and Virtual Image ?..

Answer / akshay

REAL-
It usually appears INVERTED
It can be OBTAINED ON A SCREEN
In case of mirror, the image lies in front of the reflecting surface.
In case of lens, the image lies on the other side of the object.
VIRTUAL-
It usually appears ERECT
It CANNOT be obtained on a screen
In case of a mirror, the image lies behind the mirror
In case of lens, the image lies on the same side of the object

Explain the Real and Virtual Image ?..

Answer / guest

When a pencil of ray, diverging from a point, after
reflection and refraction, actually passes through a second
point that second point is called the real image of the
first point.

When a pencil of rays after reflection; and refraction only
appear to pass through a point, the image is said to be virtual.

The difference between the two is that if a image can be
received upon a screen while a virtual image cannot be
received on a screen but can only be seen by the eye.

What is virtual image?
it is that image which cannot be obtained on a screen

In a real image the image lies in front of the mirror

In a virtual image the image lies behind the mirror

In a real image the rays meet at the focal point in front of the mirror

actually meet after refraction.
VIRTUAL IMAGE
It cannot be formed on screen in this case light rays
did not meet actually after refraction.
