an evergreen shrub or small tree belonging to family
LAURACEAE.Economically imp.part is the BARK which is
harvested after the plant is 2 yrs old.It is one of the
most popular spices used for flavouring foods.Medicinally
it is carminative, antiseptic, astringent, and a source of
cinnamon extract. Also checks nausea and vomiting.
