Why is diamond so bright ?
Answer / sanju
When a ray of light entering at one face of the diamond
strikes any other face in almost cases it will make an angle
of incidence grater than 240C the critical angle. Hence the
light will not be able to pass out, but will suffer total
internal reflection. This happens again and again at almost
all the faces inside the diamond. The bright beam emerges
from the face where angle of incidence make by the light is
24oC and the diamond looks brilliant .
