gunny bags contains pores in which air is trapped. we know that air is a bad conductor of heat thats why no heat tranfer takes place between ice and external envirnoment. hence the ice will remain as it is.

Gunny bags are made up of jute. These fibres trap air in them. Air is a bad conductor of heat and hence the air in the pores of the fibre prevents any heat transfer between the ice and surrounding
