The gases like CO2 absorb that sunlight which is reflected from the earth's surface. and hence instead of the light leaving earth, it rather tends to remain within atmosphere. so, earth's surface appears warm. since, most trees are being, so CO2 is not utilised by plants and hence more increase in temp. This leads to GLobal Warming.
