why DNA is not directly trsnslated into protein rather than
it is using RNA as intermediate?

Answer / thulasi
if dna ia directly translated into protein it can only
produce few proteins ,if it uses RNA as intermediate it can
produce man copies of proteins ,since humans need enourmous
amounts of proteis to carry out diverse functions.

DNA contains a number of introns which are not important for translation. so DNA is converted to mRNA,post transcriptional modifications are done on it, mainly introns are spliced. thus mRNA now will be ready to be translated. there are even polycistronic mRNA from which a number of proteins can be obtained. this property is lacking in DNA.

We also need to consider that DNA is held in a great degree
of compaction and opens up transiently for transcription.
This time is not enough for the large no. of units of a
particular protein required in a cell to be synthesised
directly. So after a short period of trancription DNA can
go back to its protective compacted state; while the mRNA
produced can be used for producing the sufficient no. of
protein units.

Answer / shekhar
Because RNA is primitive than DNA so protein formation was
already evolved taking RNA as intermediate. DNA evolved as a
better genetic material to produce daughter cell an exact
copy of genetic material which is full of problems when RNA
will act as a genetic material being single stranded.
