what the banks are earning through SLR from RBI? Is CRR AND SLR are just to keep cash with RBI.

I have been selected for ACIO(Tech) Grade-II 2009 in IB/MHA. I was in reserve list. My police verification through IB was completed in March 2011. Still i did not get joining offer from IB. Is there anybody who is facing same problem?
