the use of filrers in bex is that we can restrict a
characteristics.
it is used for chracteristics restriction
just drag and drop the characteristics in that filter box
and retsrict that characteristice according to the
requirement .

Fileter is simply to narrow the query result.
More filetered query means more narrowed result. ( ie
number of records are less )

There r 2 level filters in BEx.
1st one is Query Global level(When query executes first)
2nd one is after execution of the query.
Filters are used to restrict the visibility.

using filter in Bex query is : simple...
suppose we have 10chars and 10 keyfigures, by putting
filters on char, we can restrict the output, if you dont
want to display any 3chars data in output, it wont show
those chars in output
