Hi dudes , the question itself says that application server
is up and running . and user account was not locked and
expired and also says there are no network issues.
as a basis admin we need to reed the error message.
the possible reasons for the above scenario is work process
conjunction.
if the archive stuck situation occurs then also we will get
the above situation.

Hi,
Check whether Disp+Process is running by going to command
promt /Usr/sap/mms/sys/exe/run path and type dpmon and
check whether application server is active .First check at
OS level and then at application level. As you have
mentioned your account is not locked but ,If someone else
tries to access your account with unsuccessful logon under
your absence there will be minimum 8 hits for unsucessful
logon and at 9th unsuccessful logon the account
automatically gets locked out without your knowledge.
Usually unsuccessful login attempts will lead to account
lockout or if the application server is down you will not
be able to login into application server.

its an senseless question. there should be some reason why
user is not able to login. an error is always displayed on
the status bar.
first basis guy should know what is the error then only to
proceeed further. til that no basis guy can do anything with
assumptions
