BBP is the most imp phase of implementation, i this phase we do many activities
1. requrement gathering from core users
2. prepringa AS-IS doc( how the business looks in legacy)
3. after reqt gathering completes we prepare BBP doc( how the business will be in sap)
4. here you may find some gaps(in std sap has no solution)
you prepare gap analysis doc then you can suggest the client for enhancements
5. finally if core user is satisfied with the bbp doc, you will ask for BBP sign off
with this task you can move to next phase of asap methodology
