motor Alingment is the most important one .while connecting
motor with the pump we have to set alingment by using Dial
cage and the measurement will go in millimeter. millrate
fitter can do that job

rotor shaft mid point and bearing circle mid point should be
match.
rotor shaft rotate with bearing without any fraction and
sound ie, this have motor alignment is correct

If we are talking about teh motor it self, then check teh
following,
1) while rotaing the shaft, the movement must be free and
there is no abnormal sound. It ensure that bearings are
fitted properly and rotor shaft is aligned.
2) Second check there is any play in the shaft by pushing
it forward backword or up-down. It will ensure that the
bearing housing is ok.
Then your motor is ready for installtion.

cause of mis alignment:
abnormal noise,abnormal friction losses,improper raotation
normally before the commissioning of motors we will check
the alignment by millirate filler in the couplers or
baerings if reading is equal in all direction than we will
commission the motors.

Check the motor& pump platform, motor and pump shaft should be match with each,if it is love couple join check the couple r should be equal

Motor alignment is to check motor shaft coupling to pump or fan shaft coupling free rotation with axial and radial direction with the dial gauge clearance of all the 4 angles 0° , 90° , 180° , 270 below 0.05mm (50 microns). And also to check the coupling gap as per general arrangement drawing and also to check bearing clearance of both DE and NDE.
